Step 2: Songthaew (shared taxi) pick-up on Koh Chang

On the day of travel, the boat company will arrange for a Songthaew to pick you up from your accommodation. Each boat has different pick-up times and areas, which you will be informed of when booking your ticket. Generally, the pick-up areas include White Sand Beach, Pearl Beach, Chai Chet Beach, Klong Prao Beach, Kai Bae Beach, Lonely Beach, Bailan Bay, and Bang Bao Village. If you are staying outside the free pick-up zone, you can travel to the pier on your own or arrange for additional transportation.

Step 3: Check-in and boarding the boat

The Songthaew will take you to the respective boat company’s office. Currently, there are two piers on Koh Chang: Bang Bao Pier and Kai Bae Pier. You will be informed of which pier you need to go to when booking your ticket.

Check-in should be done 30 minutes before the boat’s departure time, and it must be done at the pier. Therefore, if you are traveling to the pier on your own, you should arrive at least 30 minutes early.

After check-in, the boat staff will guide you to board your boat.

Step 4: Boat departure to Koh Kood

Most boats depart from Koh Chang’s pier on time to head towards Koh Kood. Some boats may make stops at other islands, such as Koh Wai and Koh Mak, but the arrival time at Koh Kood will be as stated at the time of booking, unless weather conditions cause delays, which cannot be predicted in advance.

Step 5: Arrival at Koh Kood and transfer to your resort

Each boat docks at a different pier on Koh Kood and offers free transfer services to different resorts, summarized as follows:

  • Boonsiri Ferry: Docks at Ao Salad Pier, Koh Kood, with free Songthaew transfers to all resorts on the island.
  • Bang Bao Boat:If it’s a wooden boat, it docks at Deep Sea Pier, Koh Kood, with Songthaew transfers to resorts. If it’s a speedboat, it stops at various resorts that the boat can access directly. For resorts that the boat cannot reach, passengers will be transferred by Songthaew instead.
  • Kai Bae Huts N-Nu: This speedboat drops passengers at resorts it can access directly. For resorts it cannot reach, passengers will be dropped off at Siam Beach Resort Pier, where they must arrange their own Songthaew to the resort, which incurs an additional cost.
